Itumbi says that Uhuru chastised him for supporting the current head of state, William Ruto, and threatened to “crush him” in an interview on TV47 today 9th.
Dennis Itumbi, a digital strategist, has revealed disturbing details of a phone conversation he claims he had with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, during which the ex-Head of State allegedly threatened to “crush and finish” him for backing his then-deputy William Ruto’s State House quest.
Itumbi recalled receiving the phone call from Uhuru while on his way to Nairobi after attending a funeral in Mwea. He claims the incident happened between 2018 and 2019.
He pulled over to answer the phone, and Uhuru questioned his support for Ruto rather than his Big 4 Agenda program.
Itumbi, perplexed by the discussion, expressed his support for Uhuru and the Big Four Agenda. Uhuru, on the other hand, stated that he was concerned by Itumbi’s support for Ruto and his visits to Karen and Ruto’s offices.
The former president allegedly told Itumbi not to hang up and then placed him on wait. Itumbi drove on with the phone on speaker, and Uhuru spoke again when Itumbi arrived in Pangani, threatening to “crush and finish” him if he continued to support Ruto.
Itumbi went on to say that after the phone call, he determined to find out the truth about Ruto’s relationship with Uhuru, who was the president at the time.
He stated that Ruto had assured him that everything was fine and that rumors of a rupture were being disseminated. He claimed that after a few months, it became apparent that the President and his deputy were at odds, albeit he was unsure of the reason why.
He mentioned the strained ties between Uhuru and his friends as evidence that the issue might have been with Uhuru. He stressed that he wasn’t in a hurry for Uhuru’s call, but he said he would respond to it if it came.
