UEFA make decision on ban for Merih Demiral and Jude Bellingham, but the Turkey defender has been handed a much harsher penalty.
Both players were charged for making indecent gestures during their round of 16 games, with Bellingham committing an offence against Slovakia and Demiral versus Austria.
Furious Turkey fans slam UEFA for difference in Jude Bellingham and Merih Demiral’s bans after both were sanctioned for controversial goal celebrations at Euro 2024.
These are the decisions following the celebrations of Demiral and Bellingham, UEFA statement confirmed.
The England midfielder seemed to grab his crotch while looking at the Slovakian bench after scoring an equaliser deep into stoppage time.
He has been handed one-game ban for his balls gesture but suspension is valid for a year, Bellingham will be able to play against Switzerland. He’s also been fined for €30k as Jude will serve a one game suspension within one year period of decision.
Meanwhile, Demiral’s wolf gesture appeared to be the symbol of a far-right ultra-nationalist ‘Grey Wolves’ group. The group is banned in France, and the wolf gesture is similarly frowned upon in Austria who were Turkey’s opponents when he made the symbol.
Merih Demiral has been banned for two games and meaning he will miss Turkey’s clash with the Netherlands and a potential semi-final, UEFA confirms.
The Turkish Federation has already appealed to CAS
Demiral was found guilty of four rule breaches that include:
General principles of conduct
Violating the basic rules of decent conduct
Using a sporting event for manifestations of a non-sporting nature

Defending champions, Manchester City, beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the Premier League.
Josko Gvardiol’s 32 minute header separated the sides in the first half at the City Ground. Erling Haaland doubled the lead in the second period.
Reigning champions City side remain second in the league standings, with 79 points, just a point behind Arsenal. City, however, have a game in hand.
With Liverpool having fallen away badly in the past few weeks, it’s now very much just a two-horse race in the final stretch, with City aiming to retain their title yet again. They are in fact in the hunt for the domestic double, given they will face Man United in the FA Cup final, too.
Forest looked dangerous in attack, especially in the second half, but they lacked the composure to finish off the chances.
Today’s defeat keeps Forest in the 17th spot with 26 points. They are one point ahead of third-bottom Luton Town and two points ahead of second-bottom Burnley.
If Man City win their next four matches, they will become the first club in English history to win four consecutive titles.

Chelsea is a club with a rich history and some great successes, both domestically and abroad. Stamford Bridge has been home to some of the greatest managers in the world.
In recent years, much of that success has been down to Roman Abramovich’s millions, but it could not have been done without the talented managers who have led the team to glory.
1. Jose Mourinho
Widely regarded as Chelsea’s most successful manager. Over the course with the Blues, Mourinho won every trophy available in England including three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, three League Cups, and a Community Shield.
2. John Tait Robertson

3. Carlo Ancelotti
The legendary Italian manager was a massive hit at Stamford Bridge, where he proved just why he’s considered one of the all-time greats
Ancelotti won a Premier League, FA Cup, and Community Shield during his tenure at Stamford Bridge.
4. Antonio Conte
Conte joined Chelsea in 2016 following a campaign in which they finished 10th in the Premier League. The Italian also helped the Blues to an FA Cup triumph in his second season, but that final proved to be his last game.
5. Avram Grant
As Mourinho’s first spell fell through, director of football Avram Grant was the surprise announcement as next Chelsea manager.
But the Israeli did well in charge of the club, leading them close to three titles but it was his lack of trophies. The first since 2003/04 for Chelsea which eventually saw him leave at the end of the season.

LIVERPOOL have ended Manchester City’s incredible home-winning run after holding them to a draw at the Etihad.
Anything space Trent Alexander-Arnold could have abandoned him down Liverpool’s right side, it did not matter for Jürgen Klopp when his extraordinary half breed footballer dashed into position with 10 minutes left of this game to score a significant balancer.
Assuming that it seemed like this Liverpool objective appeared unexpectedly in additional ways than one, then, at that point, maybe it is on the grounds that Alexander-Arnold is the man with no proper position.
He was, it must be said, again and again missing when the Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku moved into the Liverpool region from the left wing. However, these are the bets a supervisor should take.
At the point when the second came, Klopp had Alexander-Arnold and that splendid right foot ready to dispatch the opportunity that in the long run showed up.
Against the high pitch winning, all-overcoming City, a draw at the Etihad is some outcome. This was the first in quite a while in all contests at home throughout the span of 2023 that City had not won.
Liverpool had pretty much remained in the game in the wake of Erling Haaland’s 50th City objective gave them the lead. Alisson was lucky to endure when he seemed to fold at a cross on 68 minutes and official Chris Kavanagh detected some contact with Manuel Akanji.
By then Ruben Dias had scored City’s thought process was their subsequent objective. Doku had ruled them down the left side.
In time added on toward the end Haaland flicked a header inches wide for what might have been an extremely late champ. City could well have merited it, however Liverpool took their risk.
Chelsea and Man City could reportedly be relegated from the Premier League if they are found guilty of breaking FFP rules, after Everton’s 10 point deduction today.
Burnley, Leeds and Leicester are also in talks to sue Everton for £300m after being found guilty of breaching financial fair play rules.
That’s a very interesting development. If Chelsea and Man City are found guilty of breaking FFP rules, they could be relegated from the Premier League. This would be a major blow to both clubs, and it would also be a huge upset for the Premier League as a whole.
FFP rules are designed to ensure that clubs do not spend more money than they earn. This is important in order to maintain the integrity of the competition and to prevent clubs from going into financial difficulty.
If Chelsea and Man City are found to have broken these rules, it would suggest that they have been spending money that they do not have. This would be a serious breach of the rules, and it would likely result in severe punishment.
The punishment for breaking FFP rules can be severe. In the past, clubs have been fined, banned from European competition, and even relegated. If Chelsea and Man City are found guilty, they could face any of these punishments. Relegation would be the most severe punishment, and it would be a major blow to both clubs.
Relegation would mean that Chelsea and Man City would be playing in the Championship next season. This would be a huge drop in standard, and it would be a major setback for both clubs. It would also be a major embarrassment for the Premier League, as it would show that the league is not as strong as it is often made out to be.
Of course, it is important to note that Chelsea and Man City have not yet been found guilty of breaking FFP rules. They are still under investigation, and they have the right to defend themselves. However, if they are found guilty, the consequences could be severe.
After Everton’s points deduction, do you think that Chelsea and Man City should also be punished?
