Several high-profile footballers have been known to date the daughters of football’s best-known legends over the last few decades. Here are four footballers who have dated their coach’s daughter:

1. Donny van de Beek and Estelle Bergkamp

The Manchester United midfielder is in a long-term relationship with Estelle Bergkamp, the daughter of Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp.

Van de Beek first met Bergkamp in Amsterdam two years ago and their relationship quickly blossomed, meaning she joined him in Manchester when he secured his transfer to Old Trafford in September 2020.

2. Dele Alli and Maria Guardiola

Alli is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League club Everton. The former Tottenham star had a fling with Maria Guardiola, the daughter of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

3. Sergio Aguero and Gianinna Maradona

The former Manchester City striker was in a romantic relationship with the daughter of the late Argentine legend and former coach, Diego Maradona.

The pair were introduced by Diego in 2008 and went on to tie the knot, before having a son, Benjamin, together in February 2009

However, Sergio and Gianinna split when things turned sour in 2012, with reports in Argentina claiming they argued over the latter’s ‘party lifestyle’.

4. Alvaro Vasquez and Claudia Hierro

Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro was briefly a father-in-law to Alvaro Vazquez, the Spanish striker who spent close to a decade in La Liga with Espanyol and Getafe.

Vazquez, who also enjoyed a short loan spell in the Premier League with Swansea, previously dated Hierro’s daughter Claudia before going their separate ways.
