Everton drew a 2-2 draw at Sheffield United thanks to Arnaut Danjuma’s second-half goal, as both teams grabbed their first points of the Premier League season.
The Blades overturned Abdoulaye Doucoure’s early goal to lead 2-1 at halftime thanks to Cameron Archer’s first club goal and a Jordan Pickford own goal.
Arnaut Danjuma equalised for Everton early in the second half, but neither side could break the deadlock for a final time.
In the final third, the £18 million player Archer was in the thick of the action and caressed in a great finish for his first goal since joining from Aston Villa. It was his incredible curling shot that hit the wall and deflected in off Pickford.
At the very last moment, the Blades came close to winning it, but Pickford saved them by deflecting McBurnie’s free header onto the underside of the crossbar and then turning the striker’s second attempt onto the post.
Archer and Beto made impressive league debuts and have the potential to significantly improve their respective teams this season. Everton will host Arsenal at Goodison Park after the break; they have a decent record against the Gunners. Sheffield United will travel to north London to take on Tottenham Hotspur.
