Everton breaks their Premier League goal drought with a 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.

Everton drew a 2-2 draw at Sheffield United thanks to Arnaut Danjuma’s second-half goal, as both teams grabbed their first points of the Premier League season.

The Blades overturned Abdoulaye Doucoure’s early goal to lead 2-1 at halftime thanks to Cameron Archer’s first club goal and a Jordan Pickford own goal.

Arnaut Danjuma equalised for Everton early in the second half, but neither side could break the deadlock for a final time.

In the final third, the £18 million player Archer was in the thick of the action and caressed in a great finish for his first goal since joining from Aston Villa. It was his incredible curling shot that hit the wall and deflected in off Pickford.

At the very last moment, the Blades came close to winning it, but Pickford saved them by deflecting McBurnie’s free header onto the underside of the crossbar and then turning the striker’s second attempt onto the post.

Archer and Beto made impressive league debuts and have the potential to significantly improve their respective teams this season. Everton will host Arsenal at Goodison Park after the break; they have a decent record against the Gunners. Sheffield United will travel to north London to take on Tottenham Hotspur.

‘No number ones’ at any position for Arsenal,’ claims Arteta.

. With Raya taking on England goalie Aaron Ramsdale, Arteta hopes to increase competition in his net.

. Peter Schmeichel, a former goalkeeper for Manchester United, questions if stick-to-stick combat is beneficial.

In spite of adding goalkeeper David Raya to his roster, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta claims that there are “no number ones” in his group.
The 27-year-old has joined on a season-long loan from Brentford with the option of being made permanent.
With Raya taking on England goalie Aaron Ramsdale, Arteta hopes to increase competition in his net.
The environment must improve for the team to perform better, according to Arteta.
As Arsenal finished second to Manchester City last season, Ramsdale, 25, maintained 14 clean sheets. However, Arteta said he hoped Raya’s arrival and increased rivalry for spots in his side will inspire his players to raise their level of performance.

When you have to be at your best every day, your level rises,” the former Everton and Real Sociedad midfielder explained.
“We have two fantastic goalkeepers, as well as two fantastic left wingers, two fantastic holding midfielders, and two fantastic strikers.” There is no such thing as a number one – not in any position.”
Jurrien Timber needs surgery on his injured ACL, which he suffered in Saturday’s triumph over Nottingham Forest.

“What happened to Jurrien is something that might happen to anyone. If Aaron [Ramsdale] performs his cruciate, we must be ready and proactive. We now have two superb goalkeepers who fit our model well.”

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel is skeptical of the value of goalkeeper competition, telling BBC Radio 5 Live: “Ramsdale was fantastic for Arsenal last season; he’s brilliant with his feet and brilliant with the core business of goalkeeping.” He’s the best English keeper there is.”
“The role of goalie is very reactive. You cannot create something on your own; you must wait for events to occur. You’re now asking your goalie to outperform the other one, which means you’ll have to go out and do things, which you don’t want to do.It’s the one position where you want to be consistent. The worst thing is when a goalkeeper attempts something and it fails. It’s the same every time.

How a former manager of Chelsea and Tottenham left football to become a racer car

Andre Villa Boas was one of the most intriguing managers in the world ten years ago. AVB was signed by Chelsea shortly after Porto won the Portuguese league title without dropping a single game, but he was unable to duplicate that achievement.

After being fired by Chelsea, he relocated to another area of London and joined Tottenham, where he holds the distinction for having the highest victory percentage of any manager.

At the time, Boas disclosed that he might give up managing in ten years to pursue another goal. After spending some time in China and Russia, he gave up football to take part in the 2018 Dakar Rally.

On the fourth stage in Peru, he crashed into a sand dune and hurt his back, forcing him to withdraw. Then, in 2018, he took part in the Baja TT do Pinhal while operating a Can-Am Maverick X3.

With Marseille, he entered management once more in 2019, although he eventually left in 2022. He then competed once more in the WRC Vodafone Rally of Portugal in 2022. Villas-Boas said that the victory was a “dream come true” after the race.
