African Climate Summit is finally opened by President Dr. William Ruto

The Africa Climate Summit (ACS), which will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) from today, September 4, to September 6, 2023, has been formally inaugurated by President William Ruto.

President Ruto today has launched the ACS conference where in his opening remarks said that Africa is “the key” to accelerate the decarbonization of the global economy and that it is time for everyone to contribute to future generations in order to stimulate climate action.

In addition, His Excellency urged climate actors to work together to solve the global warming catastrophe rather than continuing the North vs. South debate.

The meeting, according to the president, will contribute to the delivery of African solutions to the COP28 climate summit, which will take place in Dubai in November.

Therefore his excellency pressed on commitment when investing in climate-smart agriculture, challenging nations to tap into renewable resources across the continent.
