Facebook Content Creators In Kenya Now Eligible For Monetisation With 5,000 Followers

Facebook owner, Meta has finally rolled out features allowing content creators on its platform in Kenya to earn revenue from short-form videos via adnvertisements, the social network has said.

Meta said features, Facebook Ads on Reels and In-Stream Ads on Facebook, will let creators make money by producing original videos and growing their community.

According to Moon Baz, Meta’s Global Partnerships Lead for Africa, Middle East, and Turkey, claims that the features will enable Kenyan content creators to make money.

5 ways to make money on Facebook.

  1. Fan Subscriptions: Creators can earn money directly from their fans through monthly subscriptions. Fans pay to support their favorite creators in exchange for exclusive content and badges.
  2. Stars: Viewers can purchase Stars and send them to creators during live videos. Each Star has a monetary value, providing a direct way for fans to contribute financially.
  3. In-Stream Ads: Creators can earn revenue through ad placements in their videos. This includes pre-roll, mid-roll, and banner ads.
  4. Branded Content: Creators can collaborate with brands and get paid to create sponsored content. This allows them to monetize their influence and reach through partnerships.
  5. Affiliate Marketing: Creators can earn commissions by promoting products and services through affiliate links.

Eligible creators in Kenya will be able to earn for their video and reels content with support in over 30 languages globally including Swahili.

To use either product, creators must pass and comply with Facebook’s Partner Monetisation Policies and Content Monetisation Policies, and be at least 18 years old. For In-Stream Ads, Meta said creators must meet certain eligibility requirements, such as having a minimum of 5,000 followers.
